How Hyebrow started

A Passion for Culture. A Family's Encouragement. Years of Ideas Brought to Life.

Some projects begin with a business plan. Others begin with a passion, a purpose, and an idea that simply refuses to go away.

HyeBrow began with the latter.

For more than 42 years, I have been actively involved as a volunteer in Armenian cultural organizations. Through decades of community activities, events, educational programs, and cultural initiatives, I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated individuals who share a deep commitment to preserving our language, traditions, and heritage.

Throughout this journey, one thought has stayed with me: our culture must not only be remembered and celebrated — it must be lived, practiced, shared, and passed on.

Like many in our community, I have often wondered how we can make the Armenian language more present in everyday life, especially among younger generations and those who may not speak or read Armenian fluently.

How can we make learning more enjoyable? How can we bring our language into our homes in new and creative ways? How can we connect people to their heritage while welcoming others who are curious to discover it?

These questions gradually inspired ideas for calendars, educational games, puzzles, books, gifts, and other creative projects.

But HyeBrow did not come together overnight.

For several years, I have been collecting ideas, researching, experimenting, planning, and designing products that could combine cultural meaning with practical everyday use. Some concepts evolved, others were redesigned many times, and new possibilities continued to emerge along the way.

I was fortunate to have the encouragement and involvement of my two sons, as well as the unwavering support of friends and family. Their ideas, perspectives, patience, and enthusiasm helped transform a collection of creative thoughts into something much more tangible.

The past year has been a turning point.

After years of preparation, many of these ideas have finally started coming to fruition. Countless hours of research, designing, revising, learning new tools, and working through challenges have brought us closer to what we had long envisioned.

What once existed as notes, sketches, conversations, and unfinished concepts is now becoming a growing collection of meaningful products and projects.

And with each completed creation, new ideas continue to take shape.

For me, HyeBrow is a natural continuation of more than four decades of community involvement, but through a different and more creative approach. It is an opportunity to take everything I have learned, experienced, and valued over the years and turn it into something that can reach people beyond community events and cultural gatherings.

It is also a family-inspired endeavor, made possible by encouragement, collaboration, and the belief that even small initiatives can make a meaningful difference.

Our vision extends far beyond selling products.

We want to create things that people will use, enjoy, learn from, talk about, share with their families, and perhaps even pass on to the next generation.

Some projects will educate, others will entertain, and many will do both. We hope they inspire curiosity, encourage the use of Armenian, and create opportunities for people of all backgrounds to connect with our rich cultural heritage.

We are especially passionate about Western Armenian and its continued presence in our daily lives, while welcoming Armenian speakers, non-Armenian speakers, learners, and cultural enthusiasts alike.

There is still much more we want to create, explore, and accomplish.

HyeBrow is not the culmination of a journey. It is the beginning of a new chapter.

And if our creations encourage even one more person to learn an Armenian word, speak the language more often, share a tradition, or discover something meaningful about Armenian culture, then we know we are moving in the right direction.

Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us keep our language and heritage alive.

With appreciation,

The Founder of HyeBrow
